Bugatti Veyron Fails At Drag Racing Without Launch Control (w/Video)

But with it, it'll totally pants an R35 Nissan GT-R.

There's a reason we're so dependent on computers these days: they make the world a significantly more convenient place. They allow us to look at porn communicate with anyone on Earth from almost anywhere on Earth. They let us look at porn learn about every single subject known to man with a few keystrokes. And they permit our sports cars to handle power outputs that enthusiasts could only dream of in the analog era, thus allowing us to drive to the adult video store in record time when the Internet goes out experience acceleration once reserved for fighter pilots.

But complex computer systems sometimes mean complex controls, which in turn sometimes lead to confusion. This seems to have been the case for one unlucky Bugatti 16.4 Veyron driver, who summoned up the nerve to run his million-dollar marvel at the Palm Beach International Raceway drag strip...only to have his thousand-plus horsepower ass handed to him by a tuned R-35 GT-R when the Veyron's launch control system decided to take a union break.

On the second run, however, the LC was ready to rock—and with its help, the AWD Franco-German hyper-Beetle ripped through the quarter mile in 10.17 seconds at 139.44 mph, humiliating the GT-R. God bless technology.
