A few months back, we had the chance to take Ford's 2013 Shelby GT500 out for a spin. It turned out to be so much fun that we had to ask for it for a second weekend. Not because it handles well, not because it's particularly comfortable—but simply because, with 662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque, it is utterly, insanely, hilariously overpowered.

We're lucky enough to drive a lot of new cars every year. One of the perks of the job. (Actually, the biggest perk of the job.) So this year, we thought we'd celebrate what's been a good year in fun cars by compiling a list of our 10 favorite vehicles we drove this year. Which then escalated to 12 cars. Then 15. Then, ultimately, 18. We could have done more, but we had to draw the line somewhere, and it is the week before Christmas, so we've had a lot to do.
Anyway, please click through the gallery above and enjoy at your leisure. Happy holidays to all of you, and thanks for being such loyal fans of 0-60! We appreciate it more than you know.

Today in 1965, a legend was born.
We feel like such idiots—we totally forgot about the Shelby GT350's birthday until it was already here. Damn you, Facebook, for making us so dependent on you for birthday reminders!

Not that we're complaining, mind you.

Deep within the University of Chicago offices of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, there's a clock meant to symbolize how close the world lies to all-out thermonuclear war. They call it the Doomsday Clock.
