To be used in the 2011 Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, the new 458 Challenge retains the wicked 4.5L V8 with 570hp with a redline of 9,000 rpm but does with some new modifications. Gear ratio and calibration modifications have been made to the F1 box to ensure a higher torque output at lower revs. Most importantly though is weight reduction: body panels were reduced in thickness, while lightweight materials such as Lexan and carbon fiber replace the standard fare.
