Hot Hot Honda
1/64 scale Honda Racer made in collaboration with HotWheels coming to a store shelf near you.
No, there will never be enough HotWheels models on this planet, not if Honda has anything to do with celebrating the diecast mega brand. The Honda Racer is a concept based around the idea of “the ultimate race car” and utilizes free-form design only scale models can facilitate.
“The Honda Racer combines the excitement of Honda’s racing heritage with Hot Wheels’ reputation for speed, power, performance and attitude,” says Guillermo Gonzalez, senior designer of Honda R&D Americas, Inc., and designer of the Honda Racer. “Sure, it is awesome to play with the cars on the orange track again, but I discovered that designing a Hot Wheels car is very different and in some ways more liberating than designing a production car,” says Gonzalez.
You F1 buffs will recognize the Honda Racer’s influence, the 1967 Honda RA 273. In these renderings we can see the VTEC V10 with shiny velocity stacks and red DOHC valve covers.

The diecast model has a full smart ass spec sheet as if it were a real racer and even a rendering of it on track as if it were in competition. Expect the car on shelves in May.
