A Canadian Supercar Eh?

The HTT Pléthore supercar gets previewed before Frankfurt.

Canada probably isn’t best known their great automotive building prowess. In fact, the best car to come out of Canada is probably the Bricklin SV-1, which certainly isn’t saying much considering it was rated by TIME magazine as one of  The 50 Worst Cars of  All Time.

Enter HTT, the brainchild of founder Luc Chartrand. We suspect Luc wasn’t exactly satisfied with the options availible in Canada, so he set out to build himself a true Canadian Supercar, one that would finally put Canada on the map. Featuring a carbon fiber chassis and body, mated to a 750hp 6.2 liter V8, the Pléthore LC750 sure sounds like it packs a mean punch, however without any performance figures, it’s still to be seen whether or not the LC750 has what it takes to keep up with the big boys.

A quick look at the interior reveals a similar set up to the now legendary McLaren F1, with the driver sitting in the center of the vehicle flanked by two passenger seats placed off to the left and right. The exterior features wild lines and Lamborghini-style vertical doors, which will surely make the car standout, even in a crowd of supercars. The car certainly has the bold looks befitting of a supercar, and to HTT’s credit, it isn’t the ugliest supercar concept we’ve seen.

At $395,000CDN the Pléthore certainly isn’t cheap, however HTT claims that it has already pre-sold 10 units. We’ll wait until we see the performance figures before we’ll be throwing down any deposits of our own. So what do you think, will the HTT Pléthore LC750 finally be the car that puts Canadian automotive manufacturing on the map? I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.

Interior from F1, check. Stolen styling cues from Ferrari and SSC Aero, check. I still think it has potential.

If they didn’t show the engine bay it maybe stood a chance… 1 red silicone coupler, 1 black, awful welds on the tank, Home Depot (or should I saw ‘Reno Depot’) hose clamps, crappy K&N air filter.. ill stop there, since I am Canadian and it was a worthy effort

We here at 0-60 have conducted a study and the results are astonishing. Women will dress scantily and pose for pictures with a Lamborghini.
