Besides the Lexus LFA, which has now been discontinued, the Lexus IS-F Sedan was the only sporty thing about the Toyota-owned luxury brand. However, now with a sleeker and more sporty looking IS Sedan, Lexus has plans to also offer a coupe version.
A high-performance version of the Lexus IS Coupe was recently spotted hitting up the Nurburgring showing that Lexus is no longer kidding around when its comes to being edgy. According to reports, the model will be known as the Lexus RC-F and will have a bigger engine and a sportier design with a more deeply sculpted bumper, large air intakes and bigger wheel arches.
Using the BMW M3 as a bench mark, Lexus is likely to offer a more upgraded version of the a 5.0 liter V8 making more than 417-hp. The engine will likely transfer power to the wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Whether or not Lexus will do a follow up to the LFA supercar remains to be seen.
Stay tuned for more details.
