At the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Cadillac unveiled the Elmiraj Concept, a gran turismo coupe that it says expresses the pure enjoyment of driving. The Cadillac Elmiraj Concept looks into the future of Cadillac design and performance technology.
“Cadillac is fueled by the creativity of our designers, led by Ed Welburn,” said Bob Ferguson, senior vice president, Global Cadillac. “Elmiraj provides a look inside the Cadillac Studio on how we envision performance and luxury for the next generation of luxury drivers.”
Power for the Cadillac Elmiraj comes from a 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering an estimated 500-hp. The twin-turbo charging technology comes from the Caddy’s newTwin Turbo V6 featured in the upcoming 420-hp 2014 CTS Vsport Edition.
Well, we’re all wondering the obvious – will Cadillac produce the Elmiraj?
According to Bob Ferguson, senior vice president of global Cadillac, the Elmiraj Coupe ‘is very doable.’
“Sometimes you go through these exercises to make a design statement,” said in an interview with Automotive News. “This car is marketable. It’s practical enough to be put through the production process.”
He went on to say that Caddy dealers would really like to see the car in their stores.
