The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is one of the most anticipated luxury vehicles of the year. Mercedes-Benz has put a lot behind its new entry-level car that will fit beneath the C-Class and will allow the Stuttgart automaker to tap into a more younger crowd.
The CLA-Class will consist of the “base” level CLA250 and the high-performance CLA45 AMG. Mercedes-Benz recently launched the online configurator for the 2014 CLA-Class, which gave us an insight in how one will be able to package out the car—along with some pricing details.
Pricing for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 will start at $29,900 (actual pricing comes in at $30,825 with destination). We went ahead and added some options to the car and noticed that the numbers start moving north quite quickly. We pretend-sprung for a fully-loaded CLA250, adding the Sport Package, Panorama roof, bi-xenon headlamps, 18-inch 5-spoke wheels, heated front seats, the Multimedia Package and the Premium Package. We also added the Drive Kit Plus for the iPhone which syncs many of my iPhone apps with my CLA. With all those additions and a $925 transportation charge, the final price came in at $43,496.
While Mercedes-Benz is still keeping quiet on the 0-60 mph figures of the CLA250, the powertrain specs include a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine making 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. We are definitely looking forward to the CLA45 AMG, which is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo making 360 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque – making it the most powerful four-banger in series production anywhere in the world.
