In case you haven’t heard, the Powerball lottery has reached a new record; tonight’s drawing will be for a jackpot of around $550 million, which after taxes, works out to around $365 million paid out over 20 years or a $250 million lump sum. That’s a lotta chedda.

Now, plenty of other websites out there will offer suggestions for what to buy with that kind of money—gold-encrusted bathtubs, private jets, a week on the International Space Station, some Brazilian girl’s virginity—but as a car person, your first thought presumably goes to, “Man, I could buy SO many cars with that.”

But asking you to list every car you’d buy with $250 mil in the bank would be, well, a little much. So we just want to know which car you’d buy first. You could basically afford any car in the world, new or old, so what would it be?

For our money, with the whole automotive world as our oyster, our first purchase would probably be a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The pretty little peach of a white one with only 1,775 miles on the clock seen above is currently on sale in Santa Barbara for a mere $244,995. If we win the lottery tonight, we’re flying out tomorrow to pick that baby up. But, uh, we’ll be flying first class.

I know it's not a performance car, but I've always been a fan of big Bentleys, so it would be a brand new Mulsanne....
