One example of of the unicorns of the Porsche 911 has gone on sale in Texas: a 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0. Only problem is, well, it’s covered in chrome.
Luckily, that excessive expanse of chrome is just a vinyl wrap; the paint underneath is Carrara White, which should be much more tasteful. (Though we might leave that matte black on the front trunk…) Otherwise, this GT3 RS 4.0 is prime: black and red interior, less than 4,000 miles on the odometer, a curb weight of about 3,000 pounds, and of course, that 4.0 liter naturally aspirated flat-six that cranks out 500 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 339 lb-ft of torque at much lower rpm.
(And yes, this is not the first time we’ve featured a 911 GT3 RS 4.0 under the “Do Want” category. But we’re okay with that. In fact, we will continue to feature them every time we see one for sale. Because we want one that badly.)
If you’re interested in this GT3 RS 4.0, Boardwalk
Empire Porsche of Texas will happily give it to you in exchange for $225,000 in cash, credit or money order. Yes, that’s a bit more than the car cost new. But for one of the 600 examples of the most powerful naturally aspirated 911 of all time…totally worth it. [via Boardwalk Porsche]
