We’ve said it before, we’ve said it again: it’s just about impossible in 2012 for car makers to keep photographs of their top-secret debuts hidden away until their actual debuts.
Case in point: Just yesterday, we told you how Lamborghini was planning to reveal their Urus SUV in Beijing on Monday, only to come into the office this morning to find that the official media pictures have already leaked onto the web by Autoforum.cz, a Check website with an uncanny knack for releasing press shots before their time. You’d think the manufacturers would have learned to take them off the “we can trust these guys with embargoed pictures, right?” list by now.
On a side note, between these pictures and the very-likely-trustworthy report about the SUV’s specifications we heard last week, we won’t need to stay up until 1 a.m. on Sunday night waiting to hear about the car, which means we won’t have to preempt our plans to knock back a fifth of Evan Williams, make some no-bake cookies and watch Harold And Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay on Comedy Central late Sunday night.
As for the Urus’s looks, opinions around our office vary—some of us think it looks fresh and Estoque-like, whereas others of us think it’s a little too close to the Porsche Cayenne for comfort from some angles. What do you think? Let us know below. [via WorldCarFans, Autoforum.cz]
