Dodge Viper ACR-X Crushes The 'Ring In 7.03 (w/Video)

Suck on that, pretty much everyone.

Next time you're looking to impress a date, we suggest taking them for a hot lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Dodge Viper ACR-X. After running the 12.9 mile Green Hell in seven minutes and three seconds, there's no way he or she won't sleep with you...unless you've both been killed when you greatly overestimated your abilities and plowed into a tree at 120 mph.

The ACR-X, in case your command of Viper history has turned rusty, is a version of the previous (fifth-generation) Dodge Viper that walks right up to the line separating road cars and track cars, then takes one arrogantly long step over it. It packs a 640 horsepower version of the Viper's 8.4 liter V10, thanks to new headers and a low-restriction exhaust system, along with a fuel cell, roll cage, track-tuned suspension and aero, and a racing seat. (So your date's gonna have to sit in your lap.)

If you really demand a second seat (or the ability to drive your date home), the regular Dodge Viper ACR will still lap the N-Ring in 7:12. But come on...would you really wanna date someone who'd be impressed by a stock, street-legal car?

It about time, I guess didn't want to take thunder away from street version.Great run , they need to fix rev limiter issue.Either rise it or no fuel cut for 8 sec like ford gt 500.Gearing is already to tall, so allow no fuel cut on track models like ACR.Shifter also needs some work. Car should have run 7 min even.Thats what I predicted before they ran them in the summer. And finally, please so speed and rpm next time. The 599xx has similar video no rpm and speed also.

That has to be one of the worst Ring videos I have ever seen, and I have watched most of them. Was the recording of the event an after thought? Was the camera on the bumper taped on? Does anyone really want to see the driver at 3/4 perspective, so you can't even see the road? Seriously. This is bad.
