Nissan Juke-R Tops Out At 160 Miles Per Hour (w/Video)

Plenty fast enough to outrun all the other mutants.

When you absolutely, positively need to flee from a band of deranged, mutated, postapocalyptic nomads seeking to wear your skin as a Slanket, few sport-utility vehicles will do the job quite as quickly as the Nissan Juke-R. And now that Nissan’s released the official figures for their one-off road warrior, we know that with certainty.

According to Nissan, the 485 horsepower and 433 lb-ft of torque from the Juke-R’s GT-R-sourced 3.6 liter twin turbo V6 pushes the 3,973-pound sport-ute from 0-62 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, and on to a (presumably drag-limited) top speed of 160 miles per hour. And if mutation and genetic engineering in the future have resulted in a race of predatory humanoids who can run faster than that, well, you’re better off just shooting yourself in the head.

To our regret, though, Nissan’s information also reveals the Juke-R only offers about two-tenths of an inch more ground clearance than the stock GT-R, which means it won’t be that much better at bounding over the cracked, tortured roads of The Dark Tomorrow than its motor-donating cousin. Once you find a shop to lift it up a couple inches, though, it should prove an ideal hero car in your one-man crusade to avenge humanity’s lost innocence.
