The new BMW 3 Series is expected to break into Bimmer showrooms next year, but someone’s managed to catch a glimpse of the undisguised car on the streets—and they snapped off a couple pictures of the F30 3 Series in the process. Quick, anyone have a copy of that magical photo enhancement software everyone seems to have in movies?
The pictures show a sedan that, as expected, shares the general appearance of BMW’s current sedans; the rear taillamps are similar to those of the 5 Series, while the headlamps share a familial resemblance with the new F20 1 Series and the 5 Series GT. The pictures do reveal that the 3 Series scores BMW’s heads-up display technology for the first time, which should help drivers better live out their Top Gun fantasies.
According to F30post, we should expect the car’s world debut this November, with an auto show premiere at Geneva next March; U.S. customers can expect a choice of the new N20 turbocharged four-cylinder or the N55 turbocharged six-cylinder we’ve come to know and adore. A new M3—likely equipped with a tri-turbo inline-six—will follow a year or two later.
