GT5 Mastermind Returns To Analog Racing

Kazunori Yamauchi headed to the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of and driving force behind the much-beloved Gran Turismo video game series, has set down his electronic steering wheel and picked up a real one. Yamauchi was spotted along with three teammates at the ADAC Reinoldus-Langstrekenrennen Nürburgring VLN four-hour race on June 11th, driving a race-prepped Nissan GT-R decked out somewhat like the "Stealth" GT-R from Gran Turismo 5.

The next big stop on Yamauchi's team's tour: the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, based on the official list of entrants. (In case you'd like to fact-check us, they're number 71 on the list.) This isn't the Gran Turismo creator's first venture into the world of this-could-actually-hurt racing; he's competed in races on the Ring in 2009 and 2010 as well. If you're interested in learning a little more about Yamauchi, our sister publication RIDES Magazine interviewed him recently; you can find the interview right here. [via GT Planet]
