If what we’re hearing is true, Lamborghini may be planning on giving itself a very nice present for its 50th birthday in 2013. Rumor has it the car maker will honor their achievement of the half-century mark by producing a special car; however, what exactly that will be is anybody’s guess.
Precedent would seem to imply that the car will be a special edition of an existing model (presumably the LP700-4), like the 25th Anniversary Countach of 1988-1990, the 30th Anniversary Diablo SE30 of 1993 and the 40th Anniversary Murcielago of 2003. However, the persistent rumor that the Sesto Elemento concept car will see production has reared its carbon-fiber head once again here, as some have wondered whether the lightweight darling of the Paris Motor Show will ultimately serve as Lamborghini’s exclusive 50th anniversary supercar. We’ll know for sure in
three two years or so. [via Inside Line]
