The Corvette is a great sports car: it's powerful, stylish, fast and affordable. These same characteristics, however, make it particularly vulnerable to the curse of horrible drivers.
While the percentage of bad Corvette pilots is probably little different from the percentage of overconfident or underskilled owners of any other performance machine, the fact that the Corvette exists in such prolific numbers (especially the recent C5 and C6 generations) means there are probably more bad 'Vette drivers on the road than there are for any other particular model of sports car. The fact that it's relatively affordable means people might be more likely to risk doing stupid things with it, too.
In the right hands, the 'Vette can do incredible things; all too often, however, the hands on the wheel are the wrong ones. Below are twelve examples of what happens in those cases.
Here is a video of a C6 blowing its motor into a huge fireball at Road Atlanta this December: http://www.nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=38178&start=100
It's funny how the guy says "if it was a Honda it woulda been ok" because it seems like every time my friends and i go to the drag strip, there's at least one honda that blows it's tranny or screws up the clutch.
