Staff Question: Rich Uncle Car
In which we reveal our darkest desires.
Picture if you will, a typical Friday afternoon. Much like today, in fact. You, a car enthusiast of the highest order, are hard at work watching the clock wind towards the freedom of the weekend when your cell phone rings. It’s your wealthy uncle. And he has a very important question for you. “Niece or nephew,” he says in that eclectic way he always has, “I’m proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished. I want to give you something special. Pick out any new car for sale in the United States, and I’ll buy it for you. I’ll even pay for the maintenance and gas. However, you’ll have to pay for your own insurance—and since I want this gift to really mean something, I want you to use the car every day, as your main car. In fact, you’ll have to sell your old car before you can get this one, and you can’t buy another car as long as you have this one.”
You’re shocked. Your uncle has always been an unorthodox fellow, given to random acts of generosity and spelling things out in excessive detail in awkward, expositional dialogue, but even so, you never imagined he would do this. The only cars I could really see as year round, north east coast daily drivers are the GTR, the 911 turbo, and the R8. (although I do see a guy driving the morning commute, south on the West Side Highway in an orange Superleggara 2-3 times a week) Have fun on public transportation, guys!
I would ask for a 911 Turbo S in Dark Blue Metallic. Then I would ask for another set of wheels for studded snow tires to be mounted on for winter use.
