After hearing about Mini’s WRC entry for months, then catching a glimpse of the car undergoing some rally testing, Mini has released official pictures of their Countryman S rally car—and it looks tight. As you can see, the Prodrive-developed car looks lean and mean—the company’s decision to use the Countryman instead of the Cooper or Clubman doesn’t seem to have negatively affected the car’s appearance. (We especially like the cheeky “See you in 2011″ inscribed on the side window. Oh, Mini.)
In addition to the pictures, the team just announced current Intercontinental Rally Challenge champ Kris Meeke will be driving the Mini in next year’s WRC. Only time will tell whether the biggest Mini ever will prove as successful a rally car for the 2010s as the original Mini was in the 1960s, but we’re excited to find out.
