Porsche 918 Spyder Lives!

Like Jack Bauer under torture, Porsche's newest has electrically-boosted balls.

Rejoice, rejoice: Porsche will be bringing the 918 Spyder to a garage near you. (If you live on Mulholland Drive, that is.) Bloomberg News claims the car could cost about 500,000 euro, which as of today works out to $659,344 and change. Star of this year’s Geneva Auto Show, the 918 concept seen in Switzerland teams a midmounted 500hp 3.4L V8 to 218hp worth of electric motors, rendering the car capable of a 3.2 second 0-60 time, 198 mph top speed, a Carrera GT-beating Ring lap time and up to 78 mpg. Don’t expect those specs (or the mutant ninja Boxster Spyder looks) to change much for production. Porsche needs at least 1,000 orders before they agree to build it; Jerry Seinfeld, time to nut up and order two.

3.4L V8? Tasty! Get rid of the expensive and heavy electric crap, make it weigh 2200 lbs., and I would be crying with joy.
