Video: 0-60's Scion Rally xD in Action

Taking our newest project through the gravel wringer.

Two weeks ago, we took a never before run rally car to the coarse gravel stages in what’s known as the Oregon Trail Rally. After three days of skidplate thrashing, opposite-lock fun, I was taught all the ins and outs of co-driving while the 0-60 team learned what it takes to build, manage, and campaign a 2 wheel drive car in the Rally America Championship.

With 2009′s year end 2wd winner Chris Duplessis at the out-powered wheel of “Project Rallybox”, we brought the car to a podium finish on the its maiden outing in the series. With the dirt encrusted service trailer back home and champagne/mud soaked racing suits hanging out to dry, we bring you this video chronicling the weekend’s events. We hope you enjoy, and check out the beginning of our build in the Summer 2010 issue of 0-60 magazine.

I enjoyed seeing something different being thrash around on gravel roads.

I think that it is good to see other cars in these events than the normal AWD brutes ( Lancer EVO's, WRX.s, etc. ). It's nice to see that there are people out there that can show the fans what racing is really all about. No matter what car you drive, you can always do well.
