Chris Forsberg learned to drift by sliding the family tractor around the homestead in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This past weekend, the defending Formula D champ took 10th at Long Beach in his NOS-liveried Nissan 350Z.
Joon Woo Maeng is a tenacious up-and-comer, whom we profiled in 0-60's Winter 2008 issue. At the time, Maeng was a broke-as-a-joke young drifter, who worked four day jobs to support an independent turn through the pro-drifting circuit, slurping Top Ramen, sacking out in his Nissan Titan pickup and wrenching on his trusty SR20DET-powered 1991 Nissan 240sx. This year, it's a different story for the 26-year-old from Cerritos, CA. Thanks to some much-needed corporate support Maeng is contesting the 2010 Formula Drift series in a Mazda RX8 for Bergenholtz Racing.
Forsberg and Maeng -- in his beloved former Nissan -- earlier this year found themselves in the eye of Mad Media's Ken Block gymkhana-seasoned cameras for this Maxxis-sponsored clip. Possibly the best use of slo-mo since the credits sequence from “Reservoir Dogs.” [Mad Media]
