Thanks to fanatics over at 1addicts we can show you spy shots of the pre-production testing that BMW's doing to their latest 1 Series variant. Cross-drilled brakes, larger wheels, widened fenders, duckbill spoiler and a more aggressive front end, following in the footsteps of the current M lineup, can all be seen, though the trippy swirls are a bit distracting.

There's been tension in the Bimmer community regarding what the 1 Series M variant will actually be called: Do they label it the M1 and break ties with the late and great mid-engined coupe or do they label it the 1M or even the 135is? It's all a question that should be answered shortly based on these test mule shots but given what you're seeing, this 1 Series should be quite the powerhouse.

Check it out! The decal on the side is one of those single image stereograms like on the back of a Honeycomb cereal box. If you cross eyes and stare at it you'll see Dr. Mario Theissen naked. Maybe not.

the front needs to look more aggressive to make it at thunder road i.e. top of the headlight needs to be squared off with the bonnet line to give meaner stance and less pointed indicators (m sport division is not a hair dressers salon).
