Big Spoiler Alert: 2011 Subaru WRX STI Sedan

The lunch table spoiler is back on the new 2011 STI sedan. We admit, it was missed.

Trust us—the new STI sedan looks A LOT better in person. Cause we’ve heard it already that the hatch looks better but we’d disagree with you and probably have Ron fight you. We have always thought the older STi sedans looked great and the revert back to it is welcome.

Since you lose an extra door (the five-door is still available alongside the sedan) the STI sedan is actually 17.6 pounds lighter than the five-door, with the help of lighter wheels, also. Power is the same, at 305 horsepower, but since it’s lighter, it’ll probably be faster, at least in theory.

That’s about all for now but once we get our hands on one, we’ll share the experience.

What do you think, sedan or hatch?

If they race it as a hatch, sell it as a hatch. Likewise for the sedan.

While very practical the hatch is so ugly. Welcome back 4 door sedan STi. Lets hope for the 2/3 door to be an STi spec'd Toyobaru

I like it, but would throw on the smaller wrx spoiler, or run it with none at all.

Nice! I like the one with the big wing. How much downforce does it generate?! :)

The sedan looks okay. I own a 05 STi and this doesn't convince me to trade up. I'll wait for the next chassis refresh.

This is by far the best looking and surely the best performing STI ever made! The older 05-07 sedans like like poop in comparison. The 09' hatch just looked goofy, especially the rear end. This one will probably be able to compete with the EVO for once :)

'Trust us—the new STI sedan looks A LOT better in person. ' Thank you, that was exactly the news I'd wanted to hear! I bet the view is even better from behind the steering wheel - the best place to appreciate a Subaru!

I didn't like the hatch, and I don't like the sedan either. Way too many corners on the car for me.

Eric, I do not know what cars you have owned, but I have owned 2 sti's and one evo. Both STI's will take the EVO any day of the week, month, year, decade, you get the point.

Don't forget century. Evo owners just need to grow bigger dicks and realize that yes, there is A CAR in your league that's faster than yours

Wayne; In what way will an sti take an evo? Out to dinner? Every evo available in the US from 2003 - 2010 either matches or out performs an sti from that year in every way. Cornering, braking, aceleration, slalom, dyno, (hp and tourque to the wheels), road course racing, quarter mile time, and even faster auto cross times. Not saying the evo owns it or anything but is the more aggressive performance car of the two. Come on guys stop pushin this B.S. and go do your homework.

I think both cars are cool in their own diff ways and the sti has some advantages that the the evo doesn't. However they are NOT performance advantages which to me was what these cars were really made for. High performance. Cause they sure don't ride like a lexus.

Who wants a hatch? Those are for getting groceries. Give me the 4 door.

I love that fact they have both sedan and hatch, it give people an option of style without loosing a lot of the racing spec. Subie makes great cars, I'm getting the 2011 hatch next month and can't wait.

I have the 2011 Plasma Blue Sedan, and let me tell you that it is the most sexy STI I've ever seen......even better than the 06-07 pearl white with Gold BBS wheels. Realy sweet ride, and the new wheels are dark in color, which gives a wicked look to the car. Trust me on this one boys, she's worth every penny.

I'm glad some of you out there like the 2011. Maybe you'll keep subaru in business while I wait and see if they can come up with a body style that looks aggressive again. I have an 04 sedan and I have yet to see a WRX that looks as good as an 04-07. Many of my friends agree with me. The new subie's look like Hyundai Accents....family cars......just way to rounded off all around. I'm looking to buy a new car in 2011 and I'm sad to say it will not be a 2011 WRX STI.

It's looking damn good, even better now that I've seen the 4-door without the massive wing. Seriously considering a buy.
