Nissan has announced plans to enter the GT-R into some big races.
It's been awhile since we've seen any racing news about the GT-R, but finally, Nissan is letting the beast of out the cage. In a recent press release they said, “For the 2010 raceseason, Nissan has decided to unleash the GT-R’s potential as a race machine, waging war in three different series on four continents." Here in the states, Nissan partnered with Brass Monkey Racing in the World Challenge GT Series, while in Europe, the Middle East and South America, the Nismo GT-R will go for a win in the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championships. And of course, in Asia there will be three GT-Rs to hold the crown in the Super GT series. The first race in the World Challenge series is today in St. Petersburg, FL in the Acura Sports Car Challenge. Should be interesting to see Godzilla back in action -- we'll keep you in the loop. And, while this video is from 2008, it's informative and enables you to see how insane this Japanese machine really is.
