Sure it's 17 years old, discharges oil like the Exxon Valdez (and steers like it as well), but we're going to mod this second-gen Ford Taurus SHO
before making needed repairs. Why? Well, we've got a 2000-mile trip ahead of us, and we want it to go right.

0-60 brings a 1992 SHO back to spec...sort of.
It was a tall order that rolled through the front doors of the
LM24 garage in Deer Park, New York. Ahead of us sat eight hundred dollar's worth of 1992 vintage Ford Taurus SHO which, in one night, was to be transformed into a car capable of meeting or exceeding the performance of the new 2010 SHO. Seventeen years of wear and tear have made this one very tired car, from blown shocks to an internal oil leak that could be mistaken for a smoke screen.
