It’s pretty hard to follow a Ferrari. It’s a Ferrari bro. The 599XX is probably one of the more difficult Ferraris to follow because, well, it’s so damn awesome but RMR thinks the new Genesis Coupe is a noble platform to try and emulate the Ferrari.
Built with horsepower in mind, RMR swapped the six for the 4.6L Tau V8 found in the Genesis sedan but installed individual throttle bodies, JE pistons, a Mendeola sequential five-speed tranny. Oh, they also decided to throw the motor mid-ship, replacing the backseat. Developing north of 500 horsepower, the RMR Genesis will be shown at SEMA this year in Vegas and if we get a chance to drive it…you know we’re going for it.

If anything, that car seems more F430 inspired than 599.
Not only the most powerful Korean car, but the first mid-engined Hyundai. Actually, it seems like the conversion was fairly simple, if Hyundai really want to be taken seriously in the performance car world, they should take some notes on this and give us a mid engined coupe a'la Audi R8. Hell if a guy with a doofy accent in California can get 500 hp out of your engine, you can build a production car to make us forget all about those pitiful little underpowered econoboxes.
Just recently saw the car run and it is quickly getting dialed in and faster and faster. I couldn't agree more that if Hyundai built a version of this car for the street with even say, 400 horsepower, this car would be awesome!
