It seemed people who could afford such purchases were embarrassed to flaunt the fact they still had money to burn, while other Floridians suffer with an 11% unemployment rate. Production will be around 1000 units per year, divided between Europe and North America. As New Yorker, I can say that in certain pockets of the tri-state area, the luxury and sports car markets are still alive and well. I see new and late-model Ferrari F430s, Aston V-8s, Audi R8s, 911 Turbos, Nissan GT-Rs, Maseratis and Bentleys prowling the streets on the North Shore of Long Island,Westchester County, Northern NJ,Greenwich area CT and of course the City. McLaren has tons racing heritage, and of course the legendary F1. If this car can match its competition in power, track performance and comfort, I think we may see more than a few of these cars in the paddock of the Monticello Motor Club.
