We posted a video of this bad boy hooning around last month, so here’s an update.
Ford is celebrating 45 years of the ‘Stang, and what better way to do it than to customize one and price it at $89,950? It’s called the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Ford Mustang; with five words and a double-digit number, it better be special.
Lee Iacocca–once president of the Ford division and big player in the birth of the Mustang in 1964–unveiled this American beast designed by Michael Leone last June and it was a big hit. Some models have even been auctioned off and purchased for more than $110 thousand.
The car will be worth it to Jay Leno and a few other colectors. I just don't see it, even from a muscle car collector, it seems stupid to me. There's SO many editions of the Mustang, The Cobra, The Shelby, the gt500, the gt350, the gt, etc.... it's enough already. If they really wanted a $90k anniversary edition, make it look like this version but throw in adjustable racing coilovers, tires with MEAT, not tiny rubberbands, and a motor to match. 400hp is lame, by any performance standard. You can go buy an m3 with 450hp from an NA v8 for 65k. It will look better, run laps around it, and drive smoothly all day. Plus you'd have enough money left over to buy a 2003 mustang cobra which can make 600rwhp after $1000 in mods.
