In the last segment of Project SHO, we did the labor intensive overhaul of the blown stock suspension. As you all know, however, a car’s suspension is nothing without a good wheel and tire combo. Although the styling of the stock 16 inch “slicer” wheels brought us back to a time when Baywatch still played on TV, they weren’t going to cut it (no pun intended) when it came to tackling the corners.

We began with a set of 17 inch 5 spoke wheels found on Craigslist for a good deal; buying new rims that cost more than the car itself just felt wrong. These were then shod in Nexen N7000 tires, which are at the top of Nexen’s ultra high performance all season tire line. Sure, the easy way out would have been to throw on a set of R-compounds and call it a day, but remember
