In the last segment of Project SHO, we did the labor intensive overhaul of the blown stock suspension. As you all know, however, a car’s suspension is nothing without a good wheel and tire combo. Although the styling of the stock 16 inch “slicer” wheels brought us back to a time when Baywatch still played on TV, they weren’t going to cut it (no pun intended) when it came to tackling the corners.
We began with a set of 17 inch 5 spoke wheels found on Craigslist for a good deal; buying new rims that cost more than the car itself just felt wrong.
