In the latest issue of 0-60, Fall 2009, EIC Brian Scotto went to Norway where he heard story after story of Jonus the Norwegian and his ugly Audi 90 (which by the way had over 1,000 hp) defeating a custom, short-wheel-based Evo 9 that traveled all the way from England in a battle of David versus Goliath. It’s a crazy story, you have to hear it. Jonus is now building an Audi A8 (D2) with, what looks like, an inline-five capable of an expected 1,700hp and a weight of just 2,800 pounds. If we do some quick math: 2,800lb./1,700hp= 1.65 lb. per hp., which is unbelievably insane.
The tuners of Norway are known for their meticulously hand crafted, custom parts that they build from scratch to complete some of the most devilish cars out there. These ain’t no engine swaps, they are one-off pieces of art mixed with speed and Jonus’ new project is no exception. Take a look at this YouTube clip which gives a glimpse into the complexity of a project like this. Also be sure to check out Fall ’09 of 0-60 for the complete story.
The section you guys had about his story, and the people who praise it was an awesome article! Way cooler than any story about the Jonas Brothers.
"He continues anyway, only louder." hahahahaha awesome article. and that guy is one mad scientist!
confusing with the pic of that insane blown out v8... but he's actually building an inline5? my favorite motor and i push one myself but.. was kind of hoping it was going to be that v8? this dude is wrong in the head and, i love it. hopefully we get a follow up on this.
