Unlimited Possibilities

IFR sets out to create the ultimate in adjustability.

Cars and computers, it’s very much a love hate relationship. ECUs are essential to the operation of our vehicles, but as technology has been getting more and more sophisticated, so have ECUs. Not only are some extremely hard to tune, but user interface has been getting increasingly complicated as well.

Luckily, one company is setting out to change all of that. IFR, the company behind the Aspid, is looking to create a system which will give users the ability to infinitely tweak all facets of your sportscar, from suspension settings and throttle mapping, to ECU tuning and steering response. All while on the move. The system would do away with the mundane settings offered by car manufactures, such as the standard sport and comfort modes, instead allowing users the ability to fine tune their vehicles themselves, down to the exact steering weight or suspension rebound.

The system will run off a touch screen with a click wheel not that different from the ones found on an iPod. The Spanish company is also looking into an additional GPS feature which will be able to read and map out a road or a track before you actually start driving and will be able to automatically work out how to best set up your car before each corner.
