Bat-shit Motor of the Day

I see your twin-turbo motor and raise you two.

Check this motor out from Diesel Station, courtesy of ImageShack, that is two squared. Though it’s only a concept from Owen Developments, based in the UK, it still has us drooling over the concept. Yea sure there’s 1001hp Bugatti Veyrons with quad-turbos but those things require selling body parts on the black market. This is definitely a less expensive alternative that would fit nicely in a lot of applications.

There was a Hot Rod Magazine article about a '57 Chevy Bel Air convertible that contained 8 (that's right, eight) turbos bolted to an LS1 engine!! But the weight and turbo lag among other factors hindered its performance. It only produced 730 HP and 710 lb-ft of torque with 13 psi. You can find the whole story in the November 2004 issue. The story's called "Overkill". P.S. The car made a special appearance in Spike TV's Autorox.
