Back in April, Hennessey took delivery of a 2010 Camaro SS and this seems to be the result from about a months hard work. The HPE550 comes with a Magnuson blower attached to the LS3 pushing out six pounds of boost, though we would’ve went with 10, upping horsepower to 562. Inside Line actually ran the car on a dyno and it produced 559hp, which surprised us considering drivetrain loss is usually more substantial than that.
With a Corsa exhaust, high-flow injectors and obviously that supercharger, the new HPE550 will do 0-60 in 4.3 secs. and the quarter in 12.1 secs., besting its stock form by almost a second at the drag strip.
We’re liking the incredible look of that engine bay, the wheels, stance and sound of the new Hennessey ‘Maro but we’d do without the gaudy sticker application. Pricing for the HPE550 are $62,500 for a complete, ready to rock car or $18,950 for your own DIY parts bin.
