After convening for an extraordinary meeting of the World Motor Sport Council today, the FIA has handed down its decision regarding the McLaren F1 team and the whole ‘lie-gate’ scandal. The penalty which was to be a three-race ban will instead be suspended for 12 months and only enforced if McLaren manages to screw up again during this time period. In defending the decision, FIA President, Max Mosley was quoted as saying, “In the end there were decisions taken by the people who are no longer involved. That being the case, it would have been unfair to go on with the matter. We think it
