In an impressive Formula One debut in Australia, Brawn GP took first and second, marking the first time since 1954 when Mercedes managed to debut with a completely new team and place one-two. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello finished the race first and second respectively, while McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton placed third.
Ferrari on the other hand, had a horrible season opener. Felipe Massa’s suspension failed on the 46th lap, while Kimi Raikkonen spun into a wall resulting in a DNF.
The new rule changes, however added close racing and fast-paced overtaking. We’re looking forward to the rest of the season, which continues April 3rd with practice in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
