Aussie Roadster

The FR 1 Roadster puts Australian car design on display.

Supercar or hotrod? We’re pretty sure that if we mated an Audi R8 with the infamous Plymouth Prowler, the end result would probably look something like the Australian designed and built FR 1 Roadster. The FR 1 represents the perfect harmony between hot rodding classicism and modern super car technology.

The roadster is powered by a 6.0-liter Chevy V8 mated to a Ferrari gearbox which is pulled from the 355, while its styling cues, such as the side fins, are eerily similar to those found on the current Audi R8. This Australian roadster also features a fully independent suspension, a carbon fiber and aluminum chassis, and is expected to do the sprint from 0-100km/h 0-62mph in the three second range. The FR 1 is currently on display at the Melbourne International Motor Show which will be ending next Monday.
