Nissan used to have the LM moniker on their road-going Skylines denoting that it was a homologation special of their Le Mans racers. The GT-R you see here would most likely race in either the FIA-GT1 or Le Mans endurance series and could be a predecessor to the GT-R LM.
Nissan is quiet about the car as of right now, even going as far as to deny its existence, but according to sources, the GT-R will feature a naturally aspirated 4.5L V8 instead of the twin-turbo 3.8L. The new mill will do with 592hp and 506 lb.-ft of torque. New parts include: Nismo bodykit, spoiler, brakes, wheels, tires, vented hood, rollcage and plastic windows, which will help stop, lighten, and cool the new racer. There are also rumors of rear-wheel drive but given Nissan’s racing history, four-wheel drive has been their bread and butter.
What’s the price for all this? $720,000 with a weight of 2,976lbs. And if they do decide to revive the LM name, there are rumors of a 300 unit limited run GT-R LM with a price of $200,000.

[...] Refresher: naturally-aspirated 4.5L V8 with 592hp and 506 lb.-ft of torque, the car is still somewhat porky at 2,976 pounds but we have a feeling that the pure tenacity of the GT-R will overcome any weight disadvantage. var staf_confirmtext = 'Mail sent' #stafBlock { position: absolute !important; z-index: 100000; display: none; width: 200px; } #stafForm { background-color: #ffffff; border: 1px solid #d90000; padding: 5px; margin:0; } #stafForm h2 { margin: 0; } #stafForm input, #stafForm label, #stafForm h2 { font-family: Arial, Sans-Serif; font-size: 11px; color: #333; } #stafForm input { width: 90px; height: 15px; margin-top: 5px; border: 1px solid #999; } #stafForm label { float: left; display: block; width: 90px; line-height: 16px; } #stafClose { float: right; margin-right: 5px; } x [...]
