Official: Production version of the 2010 Camaro

Just in time for you to go down to the Sand Bar and buy some Def Leopard t-shirts.

Somebody else already blew the embargo, so who are we to deny you of these images.

Behold, the official images from GM of the next Camaro. Looks just like all of the stuff you’ve seen before, right? Well, here are some quick specs that were also released:

Trim levels: LS, LT and SS with transmission options being either 6-speed manual or automatic

Engines: LS and LT receive the 296hp 3.6L V6, SS receives the 6.2L V8 making 416hp and featuring cylinder deactivation

Suspension: Independent at all four corners with StabiliTrak stability control helping out

Braking: Brembo 4-piston calipers front and rear

Weight distribution: 52% front, 48% rear

Weight: 3,747lbs (which is significantly less than the Challenger)

Bottom line? Sounds pretty good, we can’t wait for the official first drive.

I am still nto a fan of the body style. I like the engine options and that it weighs less than the Challeneger, but I dont think its going to be as good as it should be.

3700+ lbs is still el porko but, it's a very nice step in the right direction for GM. I like the V-6 and transmission options too. Now let's see if GM actually will build this. If GM goes through the downturn that most economists predict, this project might get put on the chopping block to save obvious tooling up costs.
