From dual turbo V6 to naturally breathing V8 and back to forced induction—that’s how the story goes with Audi’s next S4. Car and Driver have confidently stated that the next motor will be a 3.0L V6 and use supercharging to boost output in replacing displacement (estimates are at ~340hp).
The primary reason for the decreased engine size is to increase fuel economy—go figure. Also in the mix is Audi’s next S4 is the “sport differential” and power will go through a 7-speed DSG S tronic. To get the story from the horse’s mouth, click over to C&D.
