“It’s comforting to know that no matter what you do in life, it will never be as awesome as this picture.” Previously, this line could be found attached to the drawing of the cast of Star Wars playing in a rock band. Is this image awesome? You bet your ass it is—sort of. I won’t lie, when I first happened upon this drawing a few years back, I had a solid chuckle. In reality though, it isn’t that awesome, at least not on a level where you’d want people outside of an online car forum knowing you actually enjoyed it.
Being a car guy, I do frequent a few car forums when I have one of those rare moments of free time and I’m in front of a computer. Thus how I came upon the image that I’m taking time out of my day to share with you. Contrary to what the caption on that image of the Star Wars rock band picture says, someone has proven that you can in fact do something more awesome than that fictional moment in time where Han, Darth, Chewie, Luke, Leia, R2-D2 and C-3PO rocked their asses off.
So has the absolute pinnacle of human civilization been captured on film? Perhaps not, but it’s definitely the pinnacle of awesomeness. Yes, it’s a Bentley Arnage, dressed in stately black, throwing a set of seriously smoky donuts in the parking lot of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Michigan. That alone would have been pretty awesome, but these guys decide to up the ante with the one fellow sitting out of the window, flipping the bird to whomever and whatever he happens to spin past—assuming you can actually see him through all of the tire smoke.

Sick. But lets overanalyze the factors that contribute to making this image more awesome than the Star Wars bit.
- It’s a Bentley Arnage. Most folks aspire to get a Continental GT. That’s great if you want a rebodied Phaeton, but if you want some British luxury on a bespoke level, you really need to get an Arnage. Besides, RWD > AWD in this instance.
- They’re taking a car with a base MSRP of $221,990 and treating it like I treat a Chevy Uplander from Hertz. Seriously, look at those gorgeous, dark circles on the ground. That’s not some half-assed one-wheel peel action, that’s at least 645 ft.-lb. of torque shredding up the tires. It’s almost art.
- As they say, location, location, location. Bentleys are to be driven, Rolls are to be driven in. This image firmly restates that. Take that, hoity-toity Grey Poupon guy.
- The final jewel in the crown, the gentleman perched out of the passenger window. He’s got some paunch going on, rocking a white t-shirt, sporting a sick fro’d out ponytail and has visible arm tats. Not exactly your stereotypical Arnage occupant. Oh yeah, and he’s flippin’ the bird! It’s more or less the most well executed f*ck you I’ve ever seen.
So, there you have it. It’s a picture that says “To hell with pretentiousness.”, displays excellent hoonage and manages to sum up the majority of my worldly aspirations into one freeze-framed moment. Is it more awesome than the Star Wars rock band? Han Solo just took a swift kick to the ding-dong. — M.T.
haHA that is brilliant!
the gentleman driving and the one giving the finger do not own that vehicle... the owner is a plastic surgeon from illinois... he was returning the car iirc, and they decided to 'beat on it'.
Those are the darkest tire marks I have ever seen. I want to see the raw file.. I call photochop!
The owner is from Michigan, not Illinois. The owner is a great guy and lets his cars be driven as they should be. The car was being returned as it was a POS lemon.
Regardless of the circumstances involved, this may very well be the best photo ever!
I wish there's was a video of that. If it really happened (if u think about it, the car could have been still and the smoke and tire marks were added with photoshop) it's definitely the best f*ck you i've ever seen. But we can only see the picture, that isn't THAT awsome, i mean its not very detailed, I don't really feel the movement. So, althought the action may have been awsomeness itself, i prefer the star wars one. I mean, what's more awsome than a the main characters of a cult sci-fi saga rocking their asses off?
This photo is hilarious! I wish there were other angles...haha
