BMW will return to American Le Mans in GT2 class with E92 M3.
About a decade ago BMW won the first ALMS race in the history of the series with their prototype V12 LMR (they also campaigned a successful M3 in GT2). In total BMW have won 15 times in the series, nine in GT2 and six in LMP1. Here’s their newest entry. Thanks Rahal Letterman Racing, you’ll be able to watch this V8 BMW attack Porsches, Ferraris and the C6 “de-tuned” for GT2 for the 2008 ALMS season. Word has it the motor will squeeze out 485hp.
