We all understand the pros and cons of alternative fuel but for some reason the thought that we sacrifice power and performance when using anything other then petrol is still a popular sentiment. Well if nothing has changed your mind up to this point, this certainly will. Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg has just two words for you skeptics out there… Flower Power.

They developed their environmentally focused solution in-house, on the factory’s engine dyno by the skilled technicians at Koenigsegg, led by Christian Koenigsegg, Marco Garver and Anders Hoglund from the Koenigsegg partner company Cargine Engineering.

In sync with Koenigsegg’s predetermined plan, all previous CCXs will have the possibility to be converted by the factory to accept the bio-fuel option. We guess you could say the jump in performance and environmental benefits of this mechanical marvel was no accident in the least. Maybe there’s been something to this bio-fuel thing after all. Due to the fact that the bio-fuel has higher octane and cooling characteristics, the power has gone up to 1018 hp at 7200 rpm and the torque to 1060 nm at 6100 rpm. Curiously enough the CCXR is the first homologated car currently in production to reach over 1000 BHP, another record for Koenigsegg. Kudos Lads!

[...] Top Gear involved in crash of only Koenigsegg CCXR in existence. The Top Gear crew has been behind some pretty spectacular crashes in recent history. Need we remind you of Richard Hammond’s jet car crash that nearly took his life? Then there was reportedly an Enzo that got hit by a bus two years ago on its way to a photo shoot. The Stig even took a Koenigsegg CCX off road at the test track last year. Thanks to some less than safe driving by a senior engineer at Koenigsegg, we can now add another Koenigsegg to the list, the extremely rare Koenigsegg CCXR. [...]
