It seams the majority of auto journalists out there are always jumping the gun when it comes to releasing information on new and developing cars these days, especially one as anticipated as Subaru’s 2008 STI. From the pages of a Japanse print mag lurks what appears to be a four-door STI hatch. We at 0-60 try to stay away from such trigger-happy frivolity—so with the official unveiling just one month away in New York, we reached out for information from informed insiders regarding if the Impreza will boot or not boot. No boot was the answer. W00t or no w00t?

Overall the STI’s face lifted body is aesthetically and logically pleasing as the smooth nose quickly blends into a subtle power bulge and hood scoop, downsized from previous renderings. In the rear, the WRC-inspired wing is functional and attention grabbing, giving the car a unique presence. With the general consensus in America being largely critical of hatches, finding out if this STI’s performance capabilities can sway the public will be an interesting sight to behold… who knows, we might even be witness to the birth of a new rally star! Time will tell.
