It’s no longer a rumor, GM confirmed at the the Detroit Auto Show that the RWD Pontiac G8 will be a reality. It will be based on the Australian-built Holden Commodore and the new Zeta platform will most likely be used across the GM line. Gosh darnit…we’re pretty damn excited about this. First off, the Holden Commodore SS is one bad effer. And let’s just think of the motor swap-ability… mmm LS7! But, we ain’t too sure about this new rumor from Automotive News, that the sedan will share fronts with it’s roadster cousin.
Take a look at the photochop above and the actual Commodore SS below, and let us know what you think.

Photoshopped G8: Dieselstation
Hat Tip: Jalopnik
4 door electric shaver!
I could work with a little tweaking.
I'd be worried about high speed front end lift, with the Solstice nose. Also, if the Solstice nose is "in", wouldn't the rest of this wicked G8 have to be more rounded to fit with the nose lines ?
