New SPEED show to be hosted by Lee Reherman, best known as ‘Hawk’ from American Gladiator!
The good news…thank god there will be a new mini-series on SPEED that will have nothing to do with NASCAR. Forza Motorsport Showdown is one of SPEED’s latest reality-style shows to debut as a four-episode series airing in February. We’ve caught a few seconds Forza Motorsport Challenge commercials…and it looks promising (did we see our boy Ken Gushi sliding around in a Mustang?). “It’s a very visually appealing production, with an incredible amount of drama and suspense,” says Robert Ecker, VP of Programming for SPEED. Drama and racing? Yeah right.
Each episode follows a diverse group of racers through a rigorous roster of competitive motor sports disciplines—drifting, road racing, autocross and drag racing (wtf, no rally?). The prize is $100,000 all wrapped in a winner-take-all format.
While there will be no Atlasphere or Hang Tough events, putting drivers head to head on a track for cash always sounds like a good idea—reality show or otherwise.
[hello SPEED]
