Straight out of Compton the Los Angeles Auto Show is the Callaway C16 and its supercharged LS2 with totally revamped C6 shell. Callaway is known to be power mongers and the reign continues. The Corvette C6 based C16 pumps 616 hp and twists 582 lb.-ft. Callaway says it’ll do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds…yeah, we’d say this car is dumb fast. Go ahead and beat the C16 like a rented mule because it’s compliant with GM’s 5-year/100,000-mile warranty and Callaway’s own 5-year/100,00-mile warranty that covers Callaway-installed hardware. The Callaway C16 will sell for $119,865.
We’ve had appreciation for Callaway efforts of Vettes past…but the C16 stopped us dead in our mouse clicks. It looks fresh…not like it’s a product of its era. Every panel of Callaway’s newest creation is not crafted by hand but designed and drawn up in CAD—then sent straight for tooling.

Supercharged 6.0-liter LS2 V8 produces 616 hp at 6,200
rpm and 582 lb-ft of torque at 4,750 rpm and quarter mile in 10.9 seconds. Top speed with stick shift coupe is 206 mph. Fuel efficiency? 18 city/28 highway.

6-pot front and 4-pot rear calipers grip 13.9-inch rotors. Super-lightweight Callaway Dymag wheels are fitted in sizes 19×10 front and 20×12 rear. The Dymag wheel features a hybrid of forged magnesium centers surrounded by carbon fiber rims.

The C16 cockpit is completely retooled in German leather and Alcantara. Note the Recaro Pole Position buckets (choice of harnessing styles available).

Those Dymag Wheels are fresh...they weigh like 14-20lbs or so based on applications.
