We should just get this out of the way, the 0-60 staff (specifically the EIC) has a slight man-crush on ol’ Brock Yates. And why wouldn’t we? The man is responsible for the original Cannonball Run which has since spawned today’s rallies like Gumball 3000 and Bullrun. His writing contributions to ’70’s Car and Driver changed the way car mags were written, and when we finally got to meet the man while racing One Lap last year, all he wanted to do was drive fast and drink alcohol (not at the same time, of course). So when Brocker told the Wall Street Journal what his five favorite books are, we took notice, as should you!
Brock’s 5 Fave Books:
1. “Driving With the Devil” by Neal Thompson (Crown, 2006).
2. “All but My Life” by Ken W. Purdy (Dutton, 1963).
3. “Ford: The Dust and the Glory” by Leo Levine (Macmillan, 1968).
4. “Fast Guys, Rich Guys and Idiots” by Sam Moses (September, 1986).
5. “The Miller Dynasty” by Mark L. Dees (Barnes, 1981)

Brock is a true inspiration.
